Revolutionary Socialist Party is a Marxist-Leninist political party in India. The party was founded on March 19, 1940 and has its roots in the Bengali liberation movement Anushilan Samiti and the Hindustan Socialist Republican Army. The party got around 0,4% of the votes and three seats in the Lok Sabha elections in 1999 and 2004. It is part of the state government in Tripura(as of June 2011).

Ramulu Jupelli (Janaki Ramulu) was born in an ordinary farming family, on August 16, 1975 in a remote village called Singaram of Rajapet Mandal, Nalgonda district. Ramulu, who belongs to the socially weaker sections, completed his primary education in his village only. After that, his education became a question mark due the economical problems and social barriers. At that time, with the help of the friends, he joined in a social welfare hostel and continued his studies. In 1992, he completed Inter and Graduation in Hyderabad. He did his M.A. with Philosophy, from Osmania University and now studying Final Year LLB. Ramulu came to Hyderabad some one and half decades back, settled in Ramnagar of Musheerabad Constituency.
Ramulu’s background of economic and social conditions naturally attracted him towards Leftist ideology. Right from the days of his primary education, he actively and regularly participated in the Left movements and its programmes. Highly educated and able, Jupelli Ramulu is a communist with great moral values. Simple and gentle by nature and opts for a simple way of life, he takes the movement as his life and people as his whole lot. Jupelli Ramulu, who has been working in the left movements from more than two decades, is the state secretary of Revolutionary Socialist Party in Andhra Pradesh. He was contested to the assembly seat of Musheerabad constituency on the commands of the Party in 2009.
